South African purchase finance

Purpose-built finance for lawful firearm purchases.

In a financed firearm purchase, payment to the licensed dealer and lawful possession by the customer happen at different stages. Tibris is being built for that gap. Approved funds will be disbursed directly to the dealer under the agreed terms, the dealer will hold the firearm while the SAPS licensing process is pending, and release will require lawful possession and Tibris authorisation.

THE PURCHASE GAP

Credit approval is not licence approval.

PRE-LAUNCH
  1. 01

    TIBRIS CREDIT DECISION

Can credit be granted responsibly?Identity, affordability and credit checks will inform a separate credit decision.
  2. 02

    SAPS LICENCE DECISION

May the customer lawfully possess the firearm? The customer's SAPS application and decision will remain separate from Tibris's credit decision.

The dealer will keep custody. The firearm will remain with the licensed dealer until the customer may lawfully possess it and Tibris has authorised release.

Clear separation

One purchase. Three distinct roles.

Each participant will have a distinct role.

LICENSED SELLER

The dealer

Will sell and identify the firearm, keep it during licensing and complete the lawful physical handover.

BORROWER

The customer

Will apply to Tibris, complete the required checks, repay the loan and follow the SAPS licensing process.

Tibris does not sell, distribute, store or handle firearms. Any future credit agreement will be with Tibris, not the dealer.

How it will work

Four stages from selection to lawful release.

The credit process and the SAPS licensing process will stay separate at every stage.

Credit approval never guarantees or accelerates SAPS licence approval.

The dealer will keep custody until the customer may lawfully possess the firearm and all Tibris release conditions are met.
